2011 Season
Harvest 2011 is in the books for bigLITTLE Wines. Here’s a look at our growing season in summary. Early June rains and healthy bloom paved the way for Jack In the Beanstalk style vigor, growth and ripening through a hot July. August was not super sweltering, but consistent sunshine and cooler nights led to great fruit development. Though later September brought cold rain and delayed ripening, early October weather saved the day. We had perfect sunny days for the first two weeks of October rounding out the season. We had huge crop levels in Pinot varieties. Riesling fruit developed beautiful aromas in late fall sunshine and was picked at the end of October. Overall, our grapes reached the targeted sugar and chemistry. We are enthusiastic for 2011 bigLITTLE Wines!
